SNAP Promotes Healthy Eating

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently released the findings of a 2018 joint study by the Institute of Medicine (IOM) and the National Research Council. The overall findings of the study can be found in the infographic below. The findings illustrate the importance of More In My Basket (MIMB) and similar programs. Notably, the cost of food represented the most significant barrier. MIMB facilitates access to SNAP and highlights how SNAP recipients can maximize their SNAP dollars while making healthy meal selections.  MIMB also increases awareness of other community resources that support healthy meals.
