Cinnamon Biscuits

Most people have heard of Cinnamon Rolls but have you ever heard of Cinnamon Biscuits? This homemade dessert is simple to prepare and can be served as a dessert or breakfast item. Pair it with a cup of fruit or eggs if enjoying this for breakfast. With remote learning back in session, Cinnamon Biscuits can easily give children a quick boost to start their school day.

With four simple ingredients, this SNAP budget friendly recipe is easy enough for children to prepare. Before you begin, be sure to wash your hands, then follow the steps below:

Bread Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tube (7.5 ounce) canned biscuits

Bread Toppings:

  • 2 tablespoons margarine, melted
  • ½ teaspoon water
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Combine sugar and ½ teaspoon cinnamon in a zip-type bag.
  3. Cut each biscuit into 4 pieces and add to sugar mixture in bag. Shake to

  5. Pour biscuits into a pie pan that has been lightly coated with cooking
  6. spray.
  7. In a mixing bowl combine topping ingredients and pour over biscuits.
  8. Bake 14 to 18 minutes.
  9. Cover top of pan with a large platter and flip the bread over to serve.
